Anne Patrizi is a third generation Folk Artist and Furniture Painter living in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Having 25 plus years painting experience Anne concentrates now on collecting and rejuvenating old blanket chests, smaller wooden boxes, tables, chairs, mirrors, etc. in the tradition of her Pennsylvania German ancestors. She designs and hand cuts her own stencils, and uses traditional methods when working on a piece (sometimes with a slightly more contemporary approach, being influenced by Native American art, Amish quilt design, and Early American Textile Patterns).
No two works are ever exactly alike. As an artist, Anne considers herself a storyteller. The artwork on each piece is inspired by nature, history, and spirituality. She finds great satisfaction in breathing new life into each piece; restoring its value as a useful household article while also giving each a story to tell. She will also work on commissioned pieces, and is glad to take a box, trunk, cabinet, etc. owned by someone else and design according to their color and style preferences to create a more personalized piece.
